Shrewsbury Studio Open Day
On Sunday afternoon, our team welcomed visitors to our Shrewsbury studio. Our extensive interiors library, including the latest designer fabrics, wallpapers and carpet collections, was available to view.
In addition, guests were invited to visit the interior and landscaping work we have undertaken at a nearby Grade I listed country house. Staff, including our interior architect, interior designers and landscape designer, were on hand to explain the process behind the extensive work to the wing and kitchen garden.
We enjoyed meeting all of our visitors and discussing some very interesting upcoming projects. If you would like to visit the studio to peruse our collections or arrange a meeting with our designers, please contact us.

We’re committed to quality and craftsmanship, and value the artisanal over the mass-produced. In our showroom we have a rich selection that will help you find your inspiration, including:
Designer Fabrics and Wallpapers
Our showroom library is vast and contains a huge selection of designer fabrics and wallpapers. We stock over a thousand collections including Lewis & Wood, Beacon Hill, Ralph Lauren, Pierre Frey, Mulberry and Chelsea Textiles. Trimmings, paint swatches, curtain poles and finials are also available.
Bespoke Hard Finishes
Bespoke hard finishes such as polished plaster, solid timber wall cladding, paint effects, real stone, porcelain, engineered timber and wood veneers. Examples of further specialist finishes can be ordered at your request.
Floorcoverings
We stock a variety of floorcovering samples from bespoke handwoven Wiltons to sisals from the East. Woven vinyls, natural stone, porcelain tiles, reclaimed engineered or solid wood flooring can also be viewed in our showroom.
Designer Furniture
We have a hand-picked selection of furniture in our showroom, ranging from well-known high-end designers through to independently sourced craftsmen. We also offer bespoke furniture, made to your exact specification.
Home Accessories
Quality home accessories such as bespoke lighting, artwork, cushions and small accessories are on display in our showroom. We are also able to source specialist pieces tailored to your home or project.
Artefacts and Antiques
Our designers are continually visiting antiques fairs, trade fairs, artisan markets and flea markets in the UK and internationally to source ‘one of a kind’ accessories. Some pieces are stocked in our showroom, but our designers often work on a project basis, using their wide network of contacts to source items.

Horton Joinery Website
We are pleased to launch our new Horton Joinery website, highlighting the services provided by our interior architect and joinery workshop.
Our fully equipped joinery workshop is located in close proximity to our studio. We offer a range of bespoke joinery and cabinetry services: from one-off furniture pieces to fully fitted interiors. You can use our skilled cabinet makers to manufacture pieces from your designs or alternatively utilise the services of our interior architect to design and oversee the manufacture and installation of your interiors.

Shropshire Design Studio Project
Horton have been working on the conversion of an agricultural barn in Shrewsbury. The project will see a redundant building converted in to office accommodation for two businesses, including Horton’s new Shropshire Design Studio.
Horton undertook all work in the planning and feasibility stages, as well as securing grant funding for the client. Having overseen the tender process and administered the contract, work began on site in May 2015.
Our client requested the Complete Package, meaning that Horton managed the whole process, overseeing the work of other design specialists. This ensures the build design and programme are seamlessly linked with the interiors and landscaping, to achieve a cohesive scheme throughout.
Andy Cobbold, our Interior Architect, designed bespoke fitted desks which have been hand-made and installed by our joiner. The interior design team have created a fun yet practical scheme for the offices, including whimsical wallpaper in the communal kitchen.
Externally, the landscaping works are in progress and transforming the office setting. Our designers have worked closely with our preferred landscaping specialist to create a design consistent with the client’s overall vision.
Working closely with our Cheshire office, the new Design Studio will provide a base for our projects in Shropshire, the Cotswolds and throughout the South of England.
We’re looking forward to revealing the completed project in the New Year. We will be holding an Open Day on 28th January 2016 where our designers will be available to give a tour of the building and discuss our services. In the meantime, please contact us should you have any enquiries.
This project is supported by the Marches Redundant Building Grant Scheme which is funded by HM Government’s Regional Growth Fund. The grant scheme aims to bring redundant buildings back into productive use and create local employment opportunities. Four new jobs will be created as a result of this development.
Shropshire Design Studio Open Day
Our new Shropshire Design Studio will be open to visitors on Thursday 28th January 2016 from 10am-4pm.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet the team, take a tour of our new office and enjoy some light refreshments whilst browsing our fabric and wallpaper collections. Our designers can discuss our scope of services in more detail and we will also have a selection of interior accessories, including Porta Romana lamps, available to purchase on the day.
Horton designed and project managed the build of our new studio, showcasing the developed design service we now provide – managing the design across the build, interiors and landscaping stages of large-scale projects.
We have further developed our in-house design team to now include Andy Cobbold, Interior Architect & Design Manager, and Laura Baarda, Junior Designer. They join our Creative Directors, Hannah Burton and Gillian Handley, Interior Designer, Helen Lewis, and Soft Furnishings Designer, Fiona Moxey.
