The three containers were loaded onto trucks at the port of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and had to endure a 10 hour drive to reach Beho Beho, The journey was filled with problems – heavy rains delayed the trucks, several broken down trucks and strict deadlines regarding entry into the Selous Game reserve also meant further delays for the containers. Three days later than planned the containers made it into Beho Beho. The refurb could begin…

Horton were in charge of the logistics back in the UK and had 2 months to design, order and get all soft furnishings including upholstered furniture, cushions, lighting and over 600 candles loaded into 3 x 40ft containers at a depo in Warrington. The containers travelled down to Felixstowe by truck and were loaded onto a container ship by the end of August 2011.

A painter who loves colour and loves to create movement with it. Growing up in the forests of Scandinavia allowed her imagination to blossom to the point that she is most creative and inspired in the silence.  Its there that the images come out through her. Its as though they are alive and place many demands on her during their “recreation” on to canvas. She wants her images to inspire people to have the courage and maturity to be more joyful.

As part of our showroom refresh here are two new pieces of furniture just in.

Firstly our bespoke handmade ‘Horton Club Chair’. A big comfortable grandad style armchair covered in rustic coloured fabric from Andrew Martin. It measures 1m wide x 115cm deep.

Plus a Storage Kilim Ottoman 1m x 1m also in rustic coloured fabric that will look great in front of a fireplace with useful storage as well.

Year 9 students at Birchwood Community High School, Warrington are using our discontinued fabrics and old interior magazines in their Art Textile lesson.  They use them to experiment with patchwork quilting, applique techniques and practise seams with the fabrics ready to start making some recycled bags. The magazines have also come in great use for collaging and creating mood boards in their sketchbooks.

Unique amongst contemporary artists he is renowned internationally as Europe’s leading metal sculptor of birds and beasts and is one of the world’s finest craftsmen. His inspired creations are drawn from nature and transform metal into works of living art.

Many clients, friends and family of Horton & Co came to enjoy the unveiling of ‘Angel Horse’ evening with free-flowing champagne, canapés and music by some local buskers!
